Thanks Ric!
I received a package today form one of the Full Moon Bus Club guys- we had been talking about buses and politics and he asked if there was anything that we were short of. I told him that the expats were doing pretty well, but the TCNs- Third Country Nationals- were generally much poorer and always short of stuff. These are people from the Philippines, Nepal, Pakistan, Macedonia, Turkey, etc. Some, including many of the Nepalese were told by their recruiters that they were going to be working in Kuwait or Dubai in hotels, etc. and then they got shipped to Iraq. Hard luck if there ever was. Most are very poor and working to support extended families so they take what they can get.
I mentioned a few items that are always appreciated and he sent a box full of stuff. I've handed out some of it already- nothing like sunglasses to make someone feel cool. As the weather cools the coffee will be appreciated that much more and the tea I'm hoarding in my desk (I'll share with anyone that wants some of course).
Again, thank you very much!
