Gazelles
20:30
I finally got to see the gazelles today. I'm not sure, but I think that they are Dorcas gazelles:

If so, they are an endangered species. We have three of them that live in one of the former garden plots on the base. Our base, being a former horse ranch, has garden plots along with former date orchids (now defunct). We went to the wash rack to wash the truck and got sidetracked by the former garden plots. Chris had seen the gazelles before, but I hadn't. As we slowly drove between two of the plots (formerly enclosed by fencing), two of them jumped up and ran. We kept rolling forward and I saw the third hiding behind a shrub. As I fumbled with the camera, he jumped up and ran- very fast. Give the sparseness of vegetation and water, we felt kind of bad for scaring them into running, but they didn't go far before hiding behind some of the dirt berms.
I also continued my HSE training, studying and testing on OSHA record keeping. Very exciting stuff- not.
Well, time to get off work and go read.
