Wow! Admirers

11:45

I was skimming through my past post and noticed that there were actually comments- somebody had found my blog and actually taken the time to read them. Cool, I feel kind of special now. Maybe I should start a fan club and offer souvenirs for sale :)

Our burn patient has been coming by every night to be re-evaluated and have Silvadene and a new dressing put on. His wounds are healing well, but I'm worried about scarring. We've had a lot of sinus congestion with coughing come in too. I need to order some more supplies today.

I'm about 100 pages into my book "Odyssey to Ushuaia". So far it's a good book. I've always wanted to ride a motorcycle to Tierra del Fuego and this guy did it and wrote about it. It's funny how you get ideas in your head- things that just wont go away. My uncle has told me that there are just things in life that you have to do- you do them now or you do them later, but eventually you have to get around to them. They could be events or travel, or something so simple as making a point of sitting up all night to watch the stars. It's why I bought the VW bus, it's why I came here, it's why I've done a lot of things- they just seemed like they needed to be done.

Speaking of the VW, I miss driving it. It was still in need of some front end work when I left it with James, but there's just something about driving an old VW bus, especially a Westy, that makes you smile. You know it's not going to go very fast so you just seem to relax a little more. It attracts attention too. So many of the cars on the road these days are cookie cutter cars- you could change the front emblem and nobody would notice. They've got no soul, no spirit, no personality. I hate to admit it, but my Tacoma didn't have half the personality that my old Land Cruiser has. When I get home I plan on driving the bus across Canada.

Speaking of stars, I sat out last night for a while to watch the Persieds. They're definitely getting more visible. The sky wasn't that great though as the Iraqis had decided to burn something else. Something in the north end of Tikrit was really going and had the sky lit up orange. I have no idea what they decided to burn. There had been several distant explosions earlier in the day.

Oh, and if I had to name a dance after kids playing in a sprinkler I'd probably just call it "Joy".........
