Political ramble

It's not getting what you want, it's wanting what you got...
Sheryl Crow
So I'm driving to lunch and I've got Sheryl Crow cranked up on the radio (it happened to be in the disc player and besides, I like that song- reminds me of home) and I heard that line in the song. I thought it was cool so I decided to share it. I don't like her politics, but I make an exception for her music. The stereo in the Excursion is pretty sweet for a factory system.
Speaking of politics, and I'm only going to touch on the subject, I'm so sick of hearing Kerry's winy drivel I'd like to slap him- I'm not sure who's worse, him or Gore. AFN (Armed Forces Network) plays on the TVs in the D-Fac and so we get to hear Hardball with Chris something or another at lunch- I realize that in an interview the interviewer is supposed to direct the interviewee in the direction they want them to go, but when did it become acceptable to ask a question and then cut the guest off before they answer so that you can interject your own (often asinine) opinion. It's frustrating when you would really like to get some information on a subject but you have to scan half a dozen websites to get enough information to form some sort of opinion for yourself- especially when your computater locks up as often as mine does.
Speaking of beating a dead horse, let's let the September 11th incident rest. It happened, it was tragic, there were lots of mistakes made on lots of fronts- lets learn from them and move on. Continually blaming each other does nothing but waste time and money that could be better spent on preparing us for the future. Madeline Albright was on the other day saying that we needed to stop preemptive strikes and that we were not any safer today than we were several years ago. This is a supposedly educated woman who's held multiple high ranking positions basically saying that even though we have eliminated many terrorist and disrupted terrorist operations, that we aren't any safer and that furthermore we shouldn't be eliminating people who present a clear threat to our citizens. What planet does this woman live on? That's like saying we shouldn't treat a heart blockage until it actually causes a heart attack.
Alright, enough politics. I promise to try and not bring them up again. I'm trying to be a happy person happy with what I got and speaking of- I got mail today! The magazines Cindy sent finally made it and my little sister emailed me and said that they'd sent a package too.
The Deputy Director at my former place of employment emailed me and said that he was keeping me and my coworkers in his prayers- here's a big public Thanks George! We'll take all of the help we can get.
I just read over the first part of this post again- I may decide to delete it. It's pretty negative and this isn't a private site. We'll see what I think about it in the morning. Speaking of, it's late and I need to get up early...........
